Laptop Blues

Hello fair fans, friends and followers. It’s been a while since I last did anything. My work schedule, room swapping and technical issues have kept me away.

Work is an interesting beast, my whole goal each day is to fix problems for people who’d rather yell, cure and belittle me without flipping out and telling them what I really think. It’s been a challenge to say the least, but apparently I am doing well at it.

We got a washer and dryer recently and need to reconfigure the studio space to accommodate them and their drainage/exhaust needs. It took us a little longer than planned but we finally were able to get it mostly sorted. That plus the construction of a storage building to house all our things still in boxes after the move, took a lot longer than any of us had anticipated and was a nightmare to finally make come together.

After all that, my poor old workhorse of a laptop is dying. I have had her for way too long and it’s time to upgrade to a new one. The problem is I am currently without the funding to purchase one. So it’s slow and inconsistent existence has made it hard to plan out or do any shows. I am toying with the idea of doing a donation drive to get me to my mark. I want to purchase a brand new, as close to top of the line laptop to keep me going as long as this one has. My dollar goal is $800, if I get that much in donations then I can cover shipping and warranty myself.

I use my laptop for writing, image editing, minor sound editing, Social media campaign building, email correspondence and pretty much every other facet of running the network and putting together the show. It’s even a primary part of my being able to broadcast as it runs the music, chat, and network monitoring. My laptop is kinda like the linchpin that holds it all together. You can see why I’m worried and considering asking for donations.

You’ll all know soon enough, if you see a donation drive post/page here on the site, please don’t hesitate to help however you can.
